U-5 and U-6 Program

Welcome to our U-5 and U-6 Program

"U" means "Under" - We place players based on what their age was on July 31st of 2011. We divide

the players in the league into a Boys Division and a Girls Division.

Our U-5 Program is designed for players who have participated in our 3 or 4 year old introductory

program. There may be some cases where a family believes their child is ready to begin playing "New Ball"

without going through our Intro. Program.

Our U-6 Program  is designed for players who are naturally old enough to pick up the game of "New Ball"

even if they have not participated in our Intro. Program.

"NEW BALL" - At this age, we do not play traditional soccer, but start them out playing "New Ball". This

is designed after watching children in other soccer developed countries. The children play street ball with

no coach, no parent or instruction. They just play ball. Intruction comes later. They build their foundation of

soccer by having Fun and developing a Love for the game. "New Ball" teaches them the "Flow of the Game",

Defense and Offense and Boundaries. The game moves non-stop because we eliminate most of the rules that

they learn later. Time is not wasted on set plays, out of bounds, etc.   Basically the 2 coaches of the 2 teams

remain in the middle of the field as the game is being played, if the ball goes out of bounds or a goal is

scored, they call out "New Ball" and procede to roll a new ball into the game and the flow is never broken.

Practices and Games - Your child will be placed on a team of about 5 or 6 players. We will need one of the

parents to volunteer to coach the team. The coach and the team usually work out what evening of the week

and what time is best for team practice. Each team only practices 1 evening per week. Usually, the times are

5:30 or 6:00. Games will be on Saturday at 12:45 on Fields 3aa, 3ab, 3ba, 3bb, 3ca, 3cb, 4aa, 4ab.
