About our league.........
-
The Ladies League is open to players 18 years of age and up. We welcome all skill levels, from beginner to advanced. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!
-
We play small-sided games of 7v7, including a goalkeeper. We play on smaller fields, 67 yds long x 50 yds wide, approximately the same size as the U-10 and U-12 players use. We also use specially-sized goals. We play 2-35 minute halves. We utilize standard FIFA rules with some modification to accomodate the smaller number of field players (for example, we don’t have an offsides rule). We also use FIFA certified referees.
-
We require that all players wear shin guards and socks that completely cover the shin guards. You can wear tennis shoes, turf shoes, or soccer cleats--just no metal-studded cleats or softball cleats. The league will provide your team with a reversible jersey.
-
We are aiming for a 10 game season, including a championship game. Some modifications may have to be made in the event of inclement weather. We play in the rain, but not if there is lightning or dangerous conditions present. Games must be cancelled by the referee, not the team captains or players.
-
The Ladies League is based primarily on the idea of FUN, fellowship and exercise. We also strive to be a "teaching" organization by welcoming players who are new to the game. We aim for fair play in a competitive, yet fun atmosphere. We’d love to have you join us!!
Our History.......
Charlie Parrish started the Women’s League several years ago with Redeemed Futbul League. It was dropped and later revived through Wendy and Kevin Barnard. It was again dropped and has been dormant for 2 or 3 years. Mandy Miller and several ladies began pick-up games during the summer of 2006 with a hand full of players. We kicked off our spring season with 4 teams. It is the only soccer that is offered to JUST women in the entire Middle Georgia Area. The key to the continued success is advertising and word of mouth. We believe that the potential is to have about 8 to 10 teams with our fall and spring season.
